New mobo? Or a cpu too? - Page 2

+1 for ASRock in the price and overclockability category.

If its compatible with CPU then others will usually follow, only thing that may cause problems can be memory but with ASRock, I wouldn´t worry about it.

Or ASrock better?

ASUS makes ASrock, but ASUS is the better quality brand hardware.

Asus>ASrock

Nice mobo, but if you want full BD support mobo. Then you need to get the AsRock mobo or any 9** series mobo.

Well if you want to do SLI then you need to get an ASRock 970 EXTREME4, which is the only 970 that can do both SLI and CF.
Out of these two. Go with the Asus M5A97, because of the 6+2 phase power and the VRM has heatsink on them.

What is the benefit of these CF and SLI? AsRock kinda hard to find here. I can get Asus or Gigabyte easily. Maybe I will go for M5A97. Noted that M5A88-V EVO cost more than the latest M5A97, is it due to IGP, marketing strategy? Or other reason?

Benefits are more FPS in most games.
For an example
Stock HD5850 CF is the same performance as a stock HD5970. 2 HD5850 is cheaper the 1 HD5970.
