No, the news section is not about asking for news, it's about posting news. Period.

Discussion over. The monitor section also holds much more monitor knowledgeable people, so you get better answers.

No. 1600x 1080 screens dont even exist.

I mean, if you want to spend good money on a monitor you should go for the best. The best resolution screen you can buy right now is 2560x1600, hence 1600p.

The bandwidth required for 120hz at that resolution is insane, it would be displaying 48 million different pixels per second (4m pixels x 120 frames/sec)

Dual Link DVI (twice as fast as regular DVI) can only hold that resolution at 60hz

Only display port would be able to handle the immense amount of data required
DAMMM thats good news its faster then the normal dvi man this should help a lot in cs 1.6 anyways how do i get a dual link dvi on this mobo http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD...M1/F1A75M_PRO/ im using a apu so no videocard with the dvi connector thingy

Technically 2160p screens are available on the consumer market at 36000 dollars.

To quote the spec sheet:
¨
Quote:
Integrated AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 Series Graphics in Llano APU
Multi-VGA output support : HDMI/DVI/RGB ports *1
- Supports HDMI with max. resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz
- Supports DVI with max. resolution 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz
- Supports RGB with max. resolution 1920 x 1600 @ 60 Hz
Dual independent displays support with HDMI/DVI and D-Sub
AMD® Dual Graphics technology support *2
Supports DirectX 11
In short, the onboard doesn't support higher than 1920x1080. @ 60hz. So 120hz won't work

From all that I see, your "GPU" wont' support it,

HOWEVER, what is the point of running 120hz monitors on intergrated graphics? It's not like you'd be able to achieve high enough FPS in pretty much any game to take use of the 120hz feature. TBH, you need 90FPS or more to notice the improvement from 60hz to 120hz

EDIT: It'd also be wiser to get a GPU like the 6950 and a cheaper 120hz monitor to go with it.

???? i can get 100solid fps in cs and 100 is the highest + with my old monitor asus vg236 (selling it by the way) on 120z i see a different and it looks like the game is running slower like when some one is running s way its easy to shot them cuz of the 120 hz

Yes, that's good. I didn't think intergrated would perform so well. Someone else might want to confirm that your "GPU" can't support it, since I simply looked at the specification sheet, and it stated a max of 1920x1080 @ 60hz

But. That monitor expensive. You know that right? Buying a very cheap GPU that does the trick like the HD 5770 or something along with it should not be the biggest issue ever, especially if you find a clearance sale or good condition used one. This would allow you to enable 120hz.
