also, if you are going to run crossfire, if I'm not mistaken it only works effectively if you are in the same hundreds series... as in if you 6950+6990 but not a 6870+6990... just keep that in mind. And if you want to see about my loop... well just click the link in my sig.

I think that would be a great xfire setup. The cost of those cards is right in the sweet spot, water block them, and you have no need to buy 7k's (until way down the road when the price falls).

You can get blocks for those cards for a good price too, $90-115 range. I highly suggest staying away from the EK blocks unless you can get their EN series and I don't believe they offer them for the 6870. They had some issues with the nickel plaiting, better to be safe than sorry. Heatkiller <$100, and Koolance <$110 make 2 great blocks for your card.

Nope, heat is heat.

Edit: Read the stickies and other threads in the watercooling section. They will give you a better idea of where to start.

When I game it pushes out alot of hot air and if I water cooled I would have a water block on the graphics card and the only air would be the fans from the rad

The heat that used to come out of your GPU cooler would instead come out of the radiator.

well it all depends on how big you want to go... for a basic starter, the RASA kits are nice. If you want to fully custom I'd say the 35X or 655 (the 35X has a slower rate, but more head room = more pressure for higher restriction systems and the 655 has a faster flower at less pressure for high flow systems). Blocks, you get what you pay for (of course avoid EK nickel plated blocks). I like dangerDen, but many find them pricey. Swiftech, EK, and Koolance all made good blocks.. just find one in your price range.

Reservoirs are really up to you. Just find one that suits your needs (a bay one if you have extra bays, internal if you want it there. They really just hold water lol.

Tubing... I'd go with primochill to tygon. Size is up to you... I'd run 3/8 or 7/16. You don't get that much more from 1/2" and in my opinion it looks fat lol. Also, if you have some tight bends (as I do) look into primoChill antikink coils.

Fittings. Compression look sleek but get quite pricey. Barbs + zipties work just fine. Also plan out your system ahead of time so you know when to get 90 or 45 degree fittings (I'd avoid 90s just because they create restriction). Also, with compression fittings, they need to match your tubing exactly whereas you you can get barbs larger than your tubing for a tighter fit.

radiators. Black ICE GTX or GTS series or Coolgate IMHO. GTX is for higher RPM fans (>1600) where the GTS preforms better for fans below that (due to fin density). I'd always try to mount fans in push/pull around rads if possible. Otherwise try and do pull (is shown to be more effective than push and shrouds will aid this). Always try and pull cold air through the radiators.

The two main things that will help keep your system cool are low ambient temps and more radiator space.
