Xigmatek elysium build

Im new to the forums and i jus started a new build in the xigmatek elysium and the budget for the build is about 2500 for everything including peripherals, and ill list my entire build, and id like comments on where i can improve on items or if you have any better ideas on how to improve the build id like that as well.

Case: Xigmatek elysium black case
MoBo: ASUS maximus IV extreme rev 3.0
Cpu: Intel core I7 2600k sandy bridge 3.4 GHZ 3.8 turbo
Gpu: ASUS matrix gtx580 (fermi)
RAM: Corsair dominator gt 8gb (2 x 4gb)
HDD: Western digital caviar blue 640gb 7200 rpm
OS : window 7 home premium 64 bit
Psu: corsair ax 1200 modular professional gold series

Extras: corsair airflo pro
corsair h100 cpu cooler
razer sphex desktop skin mouse pad
razer deathadder mouse
razer megalodon headset
razer black widow ultimate keyboard
ASUS VW246h hdmi lcd monitor
Xigmatek xlf 120 and 140mm fans to add for better cooling in case
nzxt black sleeved extensions 24,8, and 6 pin if needed

this is my first real hard core gaming build and ill be using it for gaming mostly and i want to upgrade if better things come out easily and i haven't overclocked a PC before but i want to overclock this one if i need to. so if any one has any suggestion plz lay em on me i know i can improve some way shape or form

Corsair ax 1200 is way over kill. Even if you go sli later a corsair ax 950 is more then enough.

Edit: Actually meant the TX 950 its a lot cheaper then the AX series but still a very high end PSU

I would replace the Caviar Blue with a Spinpoint F3 1tb. Also, you don't need a 1200W psu. Something like the Corsair AX850 would do nicely.

thanks i just wanted to make sure i had enough power cus i was reading that the matrix and maximus were both power hungry

^ good advice, I'd go 850w PSU and put the difference towards an SSD. Even if you decide to add another 580 later for SLI, the 850w is enough.

thanks for the great advice guy ill defiantly be switching out the power supply for a 850 like you said, and most of the parts i haven't order for this reason i have the case and a few other little things like fans and such nothing major.
