Please help! AMD ii x6 1055t OC

Thread Starter
I tried to overclock my cpu from 2.8 stock to 3.8 and it was working fine for a cpu bench mark called performance 7.
Everything seemed stable for about 40 minutes until I tried playing a game.
All of a sudden my pc crashed.
This was my first overclocked system.
I really want to achieve 3.8 ghz.
My voltages were all at normal.
Cpu was at 1.45
CPU-NB was set at I believe .20 extra which is 1.35 I think.
I was wondering if anyone could help me get this overclock achieved.
There are no temperature issues as I use watercooling. The cpu never has gotten above 50c

I believe your system is still unstable, run Prime95 blend test for proper stress testing.

Also what is your NB frequency? If you didn't increase it, you should bring the voltage back to stock. You can easily get 2700-3000mhz on the NB with 1.35v.

The northbridge is I think 2002mhz
What voltage do you think I should do?
I really want to achieve 4.04ghz.
And for my cpu what voltage would I need?

Boost your CPU-NB up to 2800mhz at 1.35v and set your CPU to 4000mhz at 1.5v and run stress test. Since you have a locked multi though make sure your memory stays around stock speeds, if it goes over some raise mem voltage a little bit.

Also what Gigabyte board do you have?

I have the Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 Motherboard
I shall try that overclock in the morning.
I will let you know how it goes.

If you want to be safe try 3800mhz at ~ 1.45v first. With the same CPU-NB settings. This is just popular settings for those chips. Not guaranteed to work. I have had a 1055t and 1090t right around this area. 1090T was a little better.

You have to be careful on those low VRM boards with X6 chips and no VRM cooling. Dont push too hard for too long. Sometimes the chips can do more then what the motherboards allow.

my suggestion is, bump CPU voltage a tad. that should fix most stability issues, similar to this one. make sure you have Cool n Quiet disbled. if it happens again, bump the voltage once more. it should go away.

what's your HTT set at? make sure it isn't overclocked when you up your fsb

also, do overclock your CPU-NB. that chip should be able to handle 3GHz CPU-NB and it'll give you a noticeable increase in performance

So my cpu nb voltage was only at 1.175 so I'm going to bump that to 1.225 and have my nb frequency at 2574mhz
cpu clock at 4ghz at 1.5 cpu voltages
