What EA will lose if BF3 stays off Steam - Page 7

To sum it up EA will lose nothing because they never had it in the first place. Potential sales do not equate to sales.
Sounds familiar doesn't it...

Except they now won't be selling their new releases on steam. They will lose sales out of this whole origin fiasco.

They may very well lose sales, but it won't be in the ridiculous numbers everyone claims.

I don't know, taking either side of that argument is a fools game as there is no way to quantify it. You can certainly make an educated guess, but at the end of the day, you won't know how many people would have bought it but didn't because of this or that.

I also am baffled by the hate. I don't know what it is about this issue that causes so much animosity. I personally have very little faith that EA can create and maintain a gamer-friendly service that's close to the caliber of what Steam has done given their track record, but hey, I'm willing to at least give it a shot. You never know right?

If you don't buy BF3 simply because it is not on steam, well I have nothing to say to you.

It's about the stupidest thing I've read in a long time, honestly. Battlefield is a series with hardcore fans, if any of them wants to miss out on this cause it's not on steam...well thank god, don't really want to play with you...can't be that smart tbh.

Do I need to? From what I've seen thus far its another GFWL.... if they pick up their game now and make it really good, maybe, but it'll get nowhere if they are just selling EA games on it.

I think the actual problem here is that people like to keep all their games linked to a single account rather then have multiple accounts for multiple games out there, I have an Origin account simply because I was in the BF3 Alpha, but I'm still debating for myself on if I should get BF3 or not, but as of right not it's Official that it won't be on Steam according to EA's Distribution listing's posted through Kotaku a few days ago.

This is baloney. EA isn't going to lose anything substantial.

Same here, and I am asking myself the same question, is BF3 worth having a separate program when I have one that already does everything perfectly?

Currently it's still on my to-buy list but it has made me apprehensive, and if the steam overlay doesn't work(I think it wasn't supposed to in the alpha).. well they may just lose another buyer(if you've ever played a game with me you know how much I use steam chat lol).
