So, yesterday my friend called me up after I had finished installing one of my 5770's that I sold to him a few days earlier and he told me that his computer was acting up. He said that he left his computer on for about 5 hrs, and when he came back from going out, all of the fans were on full blast and the was nothing on the screen.

Basically the computer would start up for 3 seconds (nothing on screen), shut down, and repeat that over and over.

I started by putting his old 300 watt PSU (we had to get a 500w for the new 5770) and that didnt fix it, nor did reseating all the ram, BUT

We found the problem! I has cleared the CMOS and it started up again.

What could've caused this?
