In addition to not using any sort of "auto overclock" program/settings, change your ram to 1333MHz @ 1.5v using SPD for timings.

I helped another guy a week ago who was having the same experience using an MSI P67A-GD53 motherboard and 1600MHz G.Skill Ripjaws X ram.

Did you run stability tests too check that your overclock is stable?

Will it do 12 hours of prime 95 blend?

so I turned OC Genie off AND set my card back to factory clock settings (822mhz). Played The Witcher 2 for two to three hours and it ran crisp and clean, NO freezing!! Guess I'll overclock manually, probably 4.0GHz, I don't see the point in going over that... Should I notice a difference in gaming if I OC to 4.0GHz?? Because if not then I won't overclock because I really don't see the point, and I even do a lot of 3D design work and rendering, but it really seems like 3.4GHz is PLENTY!! Any thoughts???

*REMEMBER* - OC Genie SUCKS guys!!!

Glad to see you got stable- I would only try for a higher OC if you think its indicated- Based on what your saying if your satiisfied with the performance in the tasks you need it for i would just be content.

If you get anything new, programs, games that start to make your performance sputter then sure go for it.

What I've learned over the years is to be patient with you OC- it can take days to weeks sometimes to find stability cause every processor, and board are different.

Oh, nobody here would use OC Genie

Welcome to OCN, btw, glad you got it sorted.

3.4GHz on a Sandy chip is plenty of juice for gaming, esp. with a single-card setup. There's some tests (benches/games) where you would get a few more FPS if you OC'd more (esp. old stuff like 3dMark06), but it's not like it'd make a difference you'd ever feel/notice while gaming.

thanks guys... This GTX 570 Classified is pretty badass. I got a 6200 something score on 3DMark 11 and that was with my CPU at 4.2GHz and my GPU at 788MHz. I'm going to run the benchmark again with me CPU at 3.4GHz and the GPU at the stock 822MHz and see what the difference is... i'll post the results.
