just the offset

edit: the thing is though, 0.03 volts difference and it exhibits better behaviour, is there a thing as too much vcore? lol? really messing with my head this is

Try lowering PLL to 1.75v or so and set spread spectrums to auto. May give you a bit more stability. Also, try enabling your C states. On Sandy Bridge they actually help overall system stability.

instead of bsod'ing, prime now fails, im running intelburntest and i'm utterly shocked to see that it's performing fine as of now(im a few runs in).... you'll never guess my offset.... -0.70.. compared to -0.15

load vcore is 1.280

edit: am i seriously overvolting, or doing something wrong, or is my system just being mental?

-0.70? Wow, that's a pretty low offset I've seen some 2500k reach 4.5Ghz stability with 1.280v but not many. Hopefully you got lucky with that chip Also, if PLL voltage at 1.75v fails, try lowering it down a bit (1.7v min). No idea why lowering the PLL voltage increases stability but I'm not complaining.

so i could've gone from a pretty average chip to a pretty decent one :S

IBT just passed 5 runs, but prime errors out on that 1344 fft, at least it isn't bsod'ing? errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr im quite stumped now

something else must be wrong, it can't need 0.06 volts to go from ibt stable to specifically 1344 FTT stable?

That is perfectly normal. Prime95 and IBT test for different kinds of stability. Prime95 checks to see if your CPU makes a miscalculation over a long period while IBT pushes your system to its limits to see if it can hold up. A few tweaks ago I could pass 50 IBT runs but still failed a few Prime95 ffts. If you're passing IBT that means you're close to stability, you just need a few more tweaks.

You would be surprised. Sometimes seemingly unrelated features can drastically improve OCing performance when properly configured. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a fixed configuration that produces the best OC, it greatly varies from chip to chip and motherboard to motherboard.

well lets put it this way, all ive done is lowered the offset drastically and it's still performing the same way,

it's currently doing ibt with a -0.8 offset, 3 results stable so far...

passed 5, what the hell is wrong with my chip, 1.272volts was the lowest i saw

Glad to hear it's a bit more stable but just make sure you don't go below 1.280v for 4.5Ghz. Very very few chips can become stable below that, even if they pass early stability tests.
