Ok guys going to pull the plug today on 2nd 6870 for CF.

I have an His Radeon 6870 atm. It is also the top rated 6870 on both amazon and newegg.com, and its really awesome but its still like 190 dollars (before rebate which is like 10-15 bucks).

Here's the cards I want to buy. Please pick one that will offer me reliability and stay cool

1. MSI Twin Frozr II 6870

2. Sapphire 6870

3. Or I can just go ahead and buy the exact same card I have right now. It'll at least match color in my case

If you want your system to "look" good, get the HiS 6870, as it will match.

The MSI Twin Frozr II 6870 is the baddest card of the bunch though. If money is no object, go with that.

I heard the twin frozr dumps air back into the case. What exactly does this mean?

Also do you suggest I put that as the bottom card or top card?

it means the air inside of your case will be warmer but it wont make a difference to any of the temps, the twin frozr will keep your card really cool and quiet and is the best one to shoot for if you have the cash.

and may i say, thats a nice little rig you got there

What games is it for? I may be wrong, but I would have thought it wouldn't be worthwhile pairing a 2100 with 2 6870s...

Really, my single 6870 handled those games just fine at high-res. You sure you need to crossfire? But if you must, go for the same card you have already. I am a huge fan of symmetry and matching things (OCD about it, really.), so I have to have matching cards. Also, if you did get a card that exhausts air back into the case, I would make that one the bottom card. But the HIS exhausts out of the case, so go for that.

WoW, SC2 & TW2 at least are all CPU dependent - so the extra card will have no real benefit. Not sure on the others.

Not sure I'd bother with the second card myself.

I'm getting an i5 2500k next spring. I also heard the new CPUs coming out will be LGA 1155 compatible so I might get one of those (ivy?)

Wow and sc2 can still run with a 8400 gs and from what I've heard crossfire does nothing for wow.
