Ok OCN, Help me out with an AMD Budget machine

Thread Starter
I've posted a thread like this in the past with great success. I'm going to be putting together a machine for a friend who has a set budget as of right now of $750, give or a take a little bit. Will only need parts for the tower (mobo, cpu, ram, hd, case cd/dvd etc). I don't suppose some of you OCN guru's can help me put together a list of parts with the best bang for the buck (hence why I want to go with AMD). System will be used for gaming, streaming media and general entrainment purposes. Thank you in advance.

I actually think you can fit an 2500k in that, here's an AMD build and a INTEL build.

AMD:

Case:

$50

CPU: x4 955 $120 Usually on sale at $110, not right now.

Mobo: ASRock 970 EXTREME4 AM3+ $113 Shipped. $103 after MIR.

HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB $50

CD: Samsung CD/DVD Burner $23 (No free shipping $19 ones like usual)

GPU: Sapphire 6850 $155. $140 after MIR.

PSU: Antec High Current 620w $70. $50 after MIR.

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) $35

$616. $571 after MIR.

INTEL:

Case: $50

CPU: i5 2500k $220 (less if you can go to a MicroCenter)

Mobo: ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z $178 Shipped.

HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB $50

CD: Samsung CD/DVD Burner $23

GPU: Sapphire 6850 $155. $140 after MIR.

PSU: Antec High Current 620w $70. $50 after MIR.

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) $35

$781. $746 after MIR.

Add a Hyper 212+ to each build if you want for $28.

You can go a notch lower on the 1155 board, like this and save a for more bucks.

You have a nice big budget to toy around with. How about:
Phenom II x4 925 + Thermaltake Contac 30 - $115 shipped [Newegg]
ASRock 970 Extreme4 - $105 + $7 shipping [Newegg]
Kingston HyperX LE 2x4GB DDR3-1600 - $49 shipped [Newegg]
Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti - $228 + shipping ($4 or less) - $30 rebate (for $2 deducted from check, it returns in 9 days! no wait rebate) [Superbiiz]

- $40 shipped [Amazon]
Rosewill Rg630 - $60 shipped [Newegg]
Samsung F3 1TB - $50 shipped [Newegg]
Crucial M4 64GB solid state drive - $110 shipped [B&H]
- $20 shipped [Amazon]
Superbiiz promo code ABCDEFG - $10 off
Newegg promo code NEWCUSTOMER10 - $10 off

AM3+ socket - overclockable - expandable - GTX 560 Ti for maximum gaming prowess - reliable parts - newest gen solid state drive for ultra fast boot

Total cost: $767 shipped
Total cost after 9 days: $739 shipped

The 2x4GB RAM is a great deal but it is likely that for the purposes of this build, you won't need it.... so you may want to just get this 2x2GB RAM kit instead to save cash

Wow, thank you for the quick responses. I'm at work right now so I can't go thru all the items but maybe you guys can possible narrow down which list is ideally the best performance for the buck. Thank you.
