Well, I was simply speaking from a consumer point of view, but indeed, those are bold claims.

I find this obscene, not so much that Apple won, but WHY Apple won....

We're talking a large economic scale here. Look at the current financial state in this world.

Now, let's say, you're Europe. So, here you got two guys. America and Taiwan. Which of them two are you going to give consent? Well, economically, you, Europe best work together with America instead of Taiwan - We can't leave our best ally alone in the cold, we have an economical crisis to fend off! And how to show appreciation any better than giving America more market share here in Europe?

Okay granted; Taiwan gave us wonderful, high-quality electronic products at a very sharp price. In light of that, I, Europe will offer my sincere apologies for what we believe is picking you to take one for our team

Too bad the folks that called the shots on this do not care about gadgets. They do care however, for their own economical and political landscape.

Well who can blame apple when idiots are queuing up to buy their devices just to be the cool kid on the block, they will naturally get so cocky and aggressive towards competitors.

Did you not read about it just being a "preliminary injunction"?

As much as I love my 2nd gen ipod touch, I don't think I would ever buy from Apple again, for this incident justified how crappy that company really is. And they're in my own backyard, too!

So the fact that their phone can handle more than one input means they can sue anything rectangular that fits in your hands and has a screen? Touch screen phones were out for years before the iPhone, and Archos beat Apple by a year with their Android tablet. In fact, much of the pressure for Apple to release an iOS tablet likely came from Archos.

Apple didn't invent multitouch. They didn't invent capacitive buttons. They didn't invent touch screens. They didn't invent touch screen gestures.

Pretty much the only thing Apple has that doesn't have prior art is the "slide to unlock" feature of their phones, but even that pales in comparison to the amount of features Apple has taken from Android.

Actually, I had an app on my Palm IIIe that was a "slide-to-unlock" type lock.

Thought you guys might find this interesting, quoting a commentor on engadget

Quote:
FROM: Tony NoName ;Truth: Samsung was the first to offer a Gesture Based Multimedia Touchscreen Smartphone with a single round physical button w/ metal band around it, rounded corners, icons on a touchscreen w/ gesture controls in a PMP Multimedia device. Notice too the elongated speaker over 3.5" screen w/ front facing camera for video calls as well as another camera on back, over a year before Apple iPhone was even out.

This is the Look n Feel styling used in their pre-existing Legacy Galaxy Series devices sold today as well as obviously copied by Apple! ....unless you believe Samsung is even more innovative than we thought by employing PreCogs for their PreRelease PreCrime assault on Apple before their products even existed!

The real revolutionary leader was the SGH-Z610 Gesture Based Multimedia Touchscreen Smartphone out when all Apple had was the iPod w/o any of these technology leading features.... except multi button "Shuttle Control" instead of gesture based controls on a single button front like this phone had before it:
https://www.box.net/shared/static/c4...behelyubx4.jpg...

That same year (2006), it was Samsung who also lead the Origami Tablet PC Revolution then too. The forefather and legacy of the Galaxy Tab 10.1, was out well before Apple's iPad was launched in 2008/2009. Note which tablet (iPad or Q1) the Galaxy Tab 10.1 most looks like and runs like today!

Notice too, that iPad unlike the True FIRST GENERATION Tablet PC the Tab looks and runs most like their own Legacy Device. They both have a buttonless front, metal band, rounded corners, flat 10" Touchscreen in 16:9 landscape mode w/ a front facing camera for Video Calls well before even iPad or iPad 2 were out! .....and in it's day, it was the thinest lightest tablet PC on the market too!

Wow. That kinda shut me up, sources and all! I think I might just figure out how to post images so I can complete that quote now .
