Purchasing a new drive soon...

Thread Starter
So my Samsung F3 has been failing hard drive tests recently. It turns out there are over 200 bad sectors. Ouch. Although I see no sings of it dying, I don't want to take chances. I'm going to Micro Center before the end of the week and plan on buying a new drive. I'll RMA the Samsung drive after that.

So, about the new drive. How should I back up all the data from the Samsung drive? Can I just create a disk image clone? I don't want to reinstall all the games/programs on the new drive. Let me know some programs/ways of doing this. Thanks.

Install new HDD
Image Samsung drive
(if necessary) apply image to new HDD (some HDD Image utilities include a clone feature, so that would make this step pointless)

As for what programs to use?

I've used EaseUS Todo Backup quite a few times and it's always worked perfect for me, and it's free.

Thanks for all the answers

I'll check one of those free programs out and tell you how it goes.

Oh, I posted this in my other thread too, but in case you haven't seen it, what do you guys think of the WD 1TB Caviar Black WD1002FAEX?
