I am going to order $1600 Gaming PC & want suggestions - Page 2

Yep, get the Sabertooth version of the 1155 platform and the i5-2500k. I would also go with the previous suggestion and go for the Venomous-X. If you want to save space, I would suggest the Corsair/Antec closed loop coolers.

I agree with everyone on the 2500k, it's an amazing chip. As for motherboards I would recommend my asus P8P67 Pro, just bear in mind I've only had it for~3 days. The 2500k is very cool, so you don't need the best cooler for a good OC.

I get around 75°C with a 4.8 GHz overclock using a Zalman CNPSX10 (which is inferior to the Venomous X) at an ambient temp of 32°C with 90% of humidity. So yeah good processor. I might be wrong on the ambient temp though as I took the outside ambient temp which is slightly hotter than the inside, given no air conditioning in work.

thanks for the intimation so far guys! I looked at the 2500k and since almost everyone here said it was great it gives me cofendence to get that. Any RAM I should get that is made for the LGA 1155 Intel P67 series?

GSkill is well regarded, 8GB kits are very cheep right now so those seem the obvious choice. The newest models come in Csa 9 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231314 or cas 8 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231445 (cas 7 is very expensive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231431)

Since you already have 4GB DDR3 then you do not need an upgrade unless you're heavy on multitasking. If you truly are then I would suggest the G.Skill ripjaws x series 2x4GB 1600 MHz version or the Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB 1600 MHz. Don't buy G.Skill snipers, they are horrible at overclocking.

EDIT : Damn ninja !

CPO.Luxio is right, if the OP doesn't want to keep running his old rig. 4 GB is plenty, but if you're buying a new kit 8GB is not much more $, so IMO it's worth it.

Here is my first suggestion. I assume you are using the 700d which is great and that you have some HDD and ODD lying around.
