Help with new build parts

Thread Starter
So unfortunatly yesterday we had a power surge and my good ol' PC bit the dust Now a couple things did survive (Luckily) and I plan on using them in a new build. I decided to make the jump to Intel because its cheap and sandy bridge seems powerful. My overal budget is 1,700$ and here is what I think. I do plan on having to buy it in parts (motherboard and cpu first though ;o) but I will have it bought by the end of september. Here is what I have

RAM: G.skill 8GB DDR3 1333mhz
HDD's: 2c Western digital caviar black's 640GB
PSU(will need replacing with a moduler unit): Corsair TX650W
My Dvd drive

here is what Im thinking to buy
CPU: Intel I5 2500K
motherboard:Gigabyte P67-UD4
Graphics card: Gigabyte GTX 570 Super Overclock Edition
Case: Coolermaster 690 II Basic
CPU cooler: Corsair H100
SSD: Crucial M4 120GB

Might look into a combo [motherboard/cpu] or [cpu/psu] deal to cut down on some of the cost. Such as this http://www.newegg.com/Special/Combo....82E16819115072 (combos related to the I5-2500K)

I just spent $715 myself to upgrade. My build was similar, but I went with z68x-ud4-b3, and an intel 510 SSD instead. Nothing wrong with the Crucial M4 however.

Great case choice ! Optimum RAM frequency should be at 1600 MHz from what the reviews tell. And take the G.Skill Ripjaws X brand, not the Snipers. They perform horribly. Other than that I could vouch for MSI's Twin Frozr 2/3 coolers. If you do not want to adventure in GPU overclocking then the Gigabyte's one is all you need.

The motherboard has a lot of combo deals as well and with modular PSUs:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Size=10&page=1

If you're not planning SLI, then the Corsair HX650 is more than enough. If you are, then the HX750 is plenty...the AX750 if you must have Gold Certification.

CPU+HS Combo

Everything else looks fine.
