Need new speakers - Page 3

I got quiet a few hits praising them om google so i thought they would be something else hm.
I read reseller ratings saying they take just as long dealxtreme ship has anyone ever shop from them? They have large selection of speakers.

The Dayton B652's are half the price of those, and 100x better of a speaker. Seriously, for under $100 passive bookshelfs, the Dayton B652's are about your only quality option (unless you find sales or used higher end stuff).

I wouldn't even pay $10 shipped for those. Just because google reviews praise them, that doesn't mean jack. Have you read newegg reviews lately? Same story.

And yeah, Best Buy does carry a large selection of speakers. They're also overpriced. My local Best Buy wants $200 for a pair of Polk Monitor 30's. Those are regularly on sale at newegg for $90 or less.

AVSforums rated those highly? They don't even have a tweeter. A 6.5" full range driver, with a poorly designed ported enclosure. Honestly that doesn't sit right with me.

This. I've been using Dayton B652s with a 1980s Realistic receiver for a while now, and for $35 they sound like $100 speakers. I also just ordered a Lepai TA2020 yesterday because my current receiver just gets way too hot for what it does

You're going to notice the drop in power if you ever crank those.

S220's are much better in terms of sound quality. I have both speakers and the LS21's are much worse than the S220's.

I know, these never really get turned up very loud or else I would have gone with the DTA-100a And to the OP, + for $62.30 is an extremely good deal that will beat all "computer speakers" in sound quality. I've listened to a couple such as the Logitech X-540 (~$90-100), X-230 ($150) and some very similar to the Creative T40s and they don't even come close.

The Insignia NS-B2111 have a 1" silk-dome tweeter.
