GPU for 3 Monitor Setup

Thread Starter
I need GPU recommendations for a new rig i will be putting together within the next month. I will be buying 3 25" 1080P Asus Monitors. I plan to do SLI/XFIRE. Restrictions are $600 or less for the GPU/s. I plan to play BF3 the most when it comes out. Id like the best performance for playing on 3 monitors.

Rig Specs:

Bulldozer CPU (eventually)
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Mobo
8GB Ram
750W PSU

Let me know if you need more information

I would recommend getting two gtx 560 ti's. It is probably the best option.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130604

That will leave you about $100 more to spend on something else too.

The above post will probably get you by, unless you are expecting to use 120Hz monitors for 3D. Then you are going to need to double your budget.

Im not sure if 2x 560's 1GB will run on high/max with 3x 25" monitors at 5760x1080?? I would probably recomend a card with at least 2GB of ram.

Or maybe some GTX 460 2GB in SLI. You can get two for about $300.00 in EVGA's B-Stock page.

Good point. I didn't look at the link to see how much vram it had. 1GB is rather low to try multiple monitors with.

Do the Fermi cards run hotter then Radeon's?

You're going to want dual 6950 2GB cards in this situation. Nothing from Nvidia's camp is going to really be strong enough, or future proof enough within your price range.

How come nobody recommended GTX 570 2GB in SLI? They can be had for around $600 and yield better performance than two 6950's, or am I wrong?
