Many G400 buyers have mentioned that installing the drivers causes the mouse to jitter. Did you experience that?

My brother's about to get this mouse after seeing all the positive reviews on OCN. He loved my MX518 and has been looking for a higher DPI version for a while.

Thanks for the upload dude. It looks like the G400 is more reliable than the ESEA cleint wink.gif

Lots of people are complaining about the G400 side grip tho... Just to keep it in perspective. Most reviews I've seen don't touch on this tho.

Yeah, I'm one of those people. The difference is big but it wasn't a problem for me. Regardless though, the shape of the MX518/G400 is too small and I won't be using either of them.

For others that like grippy sides, this change will definitely be a deal killer.

How does the grip compare to the G5's? They never had as good grip as the 518's

The G5 grip is WAY better than the MX518 grip.

The G5 has a spray-coated grip that feels study and grippy. This won't ever peel off and the side grips on my G5 look brand new after two years of use. If you actually tape apart the shell you can see the parts that are not spray-coated and the transition is more-or-less seamless. When this coating is worn through (which is inevitable with all rubber coatings), it won't cause the areas around it to peel.

My MX518's grip started peeling after 2 years and was layered on. Again, it never really bothered me but I could easily see how some may really hate this.

In terms of the best side feel.. I'd say

G5 > MX518 > G400. While grip preferences are opinions I have a feeling most people would prefer the G5 over the other two.
