My Logitech G400 Review - Page 2

The G5 has a spray-coated grip that feels study and grippy. This won't ever peel off and the side grips on my G5 look brand new after two years of use. If you actually tape apart the shell you can see the parts that are not spray-coated and the transition is more-or-less seamless. When this coating is worn through (which is inevitable with all rubber coatings), it won't cause the areas around it to peel.

My MX518's grip started peeling after 2 years and was layered on. Again, it never really bothered me but I could easily see how some may really hate this.

In terms of the best side feel.. I'd say

G5 > MX518 > G400. While grip preferences are opinions I have a feeling most people would prefer the G5 over the other two.

Agree with this 100%. I miss the grip on my old G5. I hated the mouse, but I loved the grip.

While the G400 side grip is rather slippery, the buttons are an improvement over the mx518 and G5 imo. Unlike its predecessors, the G400 buttons do not become sticky with sweaty fingers.

Idk.. the G5 never made my hands sweaty. The rough painted surface didn't make my hand as moist as the slick plastic on the MX518 or the sides of the deathadder.

I feel like the MX518 feels more comfy as it cools your hand down, but at least the G400 is easier to grip.

Looking forward to getting one (since I'm not so happy about getting a razer product after being on the hate boat for some time). They both have the same sensor right?

No they dont have the same sensor, but they are very similar.

I also strongly dislike razer products as they are too overrated and flashy.
I prefer practicality over looks.

Wonder if I can sandpaper the side grip in order to make it rougher / more "grippy"

Still unconfirmed until someone opens the thing up. If it isn't the same, it's heavily based on the 3080E

Good review.
