HYPER 212+ moves lol

Thread Starter
I just installed the hyper 212 on my i7 930. I'm still missing HDD so can't boot yet. One thing. When I just push the cooler a lil, it will slide. I think its because of the thermal compound because it hasn't hardened yet because I didn't have a chance to boot. Is this normal?

I'm guessing you haven't screwed it on yet. But the sliding might be because you might have applied too much TIM.

I have owned this cooler in the past, and even when fully tightened down there was some sliding room. However, there should be a good amount of resistance. It should not be sliding around just by tapping on it or breathing on it. In fact with this style cooler, after applying tim it is a good idea to turn the heatsink quarter turn in each direction to get the TIM into the cracks of the heat pipes.
