How far is a safe voltage overclock on this card for Core?

Lightnings can take way higher voltage than ref cards, so I believe it will be fine even with +200mV, as long as the temps don't get out of whack. I wouldn't run it at that voltage myself, but it's probably ok. Not sure about mem and PLL voltage though.

Increase the core 20-30MHz at a time and +10mV whenever the card freaks out.

EDIT: Also, Kombustor is fine for stress testing. You can even use Unigine Heaven if you like.

Tried 940 core 1880 shader 2400 memory and 80% fan, with 1025 voltage.

kombustorbenchmarktest.jpg

No errors..weird that Kombustor hasn't gave errors but GPUTool has. And I was wrong..Kombustor does max the gpu usage but the benchmark test only lasts for like 2mins or so.

Don't use benchmark, use the GPU Burn-in option, or start it directly from afterburner.

Also, use max AA, 1366x768, and OpenGL3. Do not select Xtreme burn-in

Ah okay, I did that and everything seemed stable (tested for 15mins and 5sec), what happens if it isn't stable? Will the drivers crash or will Kombustor say something?

Gonna try for 950 core on same volts as 1025 that I'm using for 940 core.

Edit: Really surprised by these temps ..avg temp during test was 57c.

Don't use things like Furmark, OCCT GPU, or Kombuster with these cards, those programs initiate the over-current protection (OCP) on the card and lower the clocks so they are useless for testing stability. Run Unigine heaven for about 20 minutes for a rough estimate of stability in between clock increases, and a final check of about 45 minutes of unigine heaven and plenty of gaming with the games you play. I would not use more than about 1.15 volts for everyday use, so check to see what that is in offset voltage for you but it likely won't be any higher than +150mV, not +200mV. Check out this thread for an okay place to look for more user's overclocks and if you read through my posts in there you will find a wealth of information on how to OC your card.

Not sure what your talking about kombuster lower the clocks speed but I monitored my clock speed durring kombuster and never once down clocked.

But according to Kombuster 4 hours stable 1000 mhz core 2000 mhz shader, and 4800 mhz memory with Core voltage of 1150

I'm talking about OCP, read more about it if you aren't familiar with it. It does throttle the clocks in Kombuster it just doesn't tell you, use a mode of Kombuster that shows the FPS and watch them plummet about 3-4 minutes into the test, that's because the clocks just got cut about in half down to 405Mhz.

Stress test with something like Unigine or 3Dmark11. I really like Unigine, its good on DX11 and tess as for stability test.

But wouldn't the the core clock speed decrease be shown in the MSI afterburner monitor? I will take the 1000 core clock speed and use the test you suggest and see if it's stable.
