I think that when backup like that it is like a copy of the original installation. So any drivers settings will remain unchanged. You will have to re-download.

I will try to redownload one game once the card is installed. But still I think I will just reformat on saturday. I think the wife has work. Its time my system has a ton of junk on it.

Make sure you completely wipe your drive then, sometimes reformatting does not free up space as much as it just allows it to be overwritten. I would suggest it for best performance however this is not a HDD topic lol.

Uninstalled COD4, downloaded and installed, it tried to work for half a second, got sound with the twirling green thing then the same ol error message.

Gonna reformat this weekend.

Really?!

Well, then there must be something else bugging things.

GPU + driver + game installation compatibility should have been resolved by reinstalling drivers and the game after swapping the gpu...

Yah its weird, also now Metro won't run because it can't find the physx.dll.

I uninstalled the physx software with all the other nvidia stuff, maybe I wasn't supposed to. Oh well I'm due anyways. Want to get this baby running smooth again. I like to reformat every couple months or so.
