HDTV + Monitor setup, audio output based on what is on the screen possible?

I just recently decided to hook up my HDTV to my PC along with my monitor. My monitor is hooked up to my video card via a DVI-HDMI cable and my HDTV is hooked up via an HDMI cable. I have separate speakers connected to the sound jack on my motherboard and my TV has built in speakers. I'm using the monitor as my main display and the TV if I want to watch movies. Right now I have to manually switch the output from my desktop speakers to my TV speakers. Is there a way so that if I had MPC playing on the TV, the audio would switch to the TV and I could still hear from my desktop speakers as well?

Are you using the HDMI sound on your GPU for the TV? You should be able to have the motherboard sound as default and just MPC using the GPU (HDMI). Take a look in Playback>Output>Audio Renderer you should be able to select your HDMI sound even though it's not set to system default. I *think* that would work how you want.

Thanks, that worked out for MPC +1. I think that's all I really need it for, but I'm wondering if there is some sort of "smart" audio output that would play audio from my tv if I moved it into that display, say web browsers, itunes, etc stuff like that

Although the MPC setting thing did solve about 90% of my issue, so thanks again
