Replay Oblivion once more before Skyrim hits! –mod guide by svaal- - Page 5

Did a better mod to remove scaling ever come out? I didn't really like OOO.

This one of the few games I own that have never finished. The scaling of loot and homeless bandits in near priceless glass armor in the game will have me on the verge of violence before I can finish the vanilla version.

Hello, I'm kinda late on this thread...but I gotta simple question....I have the steam GOTY deluxe edition btw...

I just want to spice things up, kinda like a refresh for 2011. Are there any graphical enhancements that I should look into, without severely taking up my time to install/mod?

Thanks in advanced!

Utter garbage, and down to personal opinion, hence my reaction.

Oblivion must be one of the best RPG's and and overall games ever made.

End of story.

Absolutely, have you put any mods at all on yet? Even if the only thing you do is install "qarls texture pack 3' it will transform the game so much, it's really like night and day. Makes the graphics look 2010.

PM me if you need any help, locating and or installing.

Mike

nope, haven't even installed the game yet...but i am somewhat familiar with the game since I use to play it back in 07...and I installed some mods back then too...its just been awhile

its just intimidating to go through all that work and potentially have problems with the game...and plus i'm not a hardcore modder...i just want to play the game, really...so yeah, just want to put in the least amount of work for a nice refresh

so qarls texture pack and anything else? IIRC, that mod should be easy to install...i think i had it back in the days

No worries I hear ya.

Yeah mate, quarls texture pack 3 and others that are a must have being:

- The new UI (inventory menu) mod = 100 times better menu view and map layout

- Natural environments pack = awesome weather cycles, trees, water landscape etc.

Even just with those the game is completely refreshed, if you want links to all those mods just PM me, some guy did a fantastic job of posting all this somewhere here on OCN.

EDIT** here's the links

Quarls texture pack 3 - http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.co...319414&id=4721

New Inventory Mod - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11280

Natural Environments - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2536

All have readme files with instructions, if you want help over steam or whatever send me a message.

Cheers

PS. All credit to Jamenta for originally creating the oblivion mods thread with all links.

Quick question, before I get started on this, I have a None steam version.

What should I make my install directory, I saw something like C:\es\\oblivion.... from steam or something like that and got confused.

yes, make a folder in something like C:\es\\oblivion, then just insert the disc [or run the iso(assuming you own the game and burned a backup)]. make sure you create the folder called Oblivion within the folder tes, because the setup does not make the folder.

The only folders you will really deal with are the main directory of Oblivion (where its all installed) and the "data" directory.

Most the time you're just dumping the mods straight into the "data" folder, the only other folder you deal with is when you extract the Oblivion Mod Manager to the oblivion root folder.

So yeah, it would just be in the C:/ bla bla wherever, you'll see the data folder, thats all you really need to know.

Also make sure you get the OBMM (mod manager)

Again if anyone needs help just PM me for specifics.
