Idk if it is possible. Yes their are scratches but they were working before this happened. I.can't download anything that is big, mobile broadband, just moved house.

This happened to me after I replaced my psu app I did was switch my saga cables on my hdds and it went away

Double and triple check your bios for CD/DVD as the first boot option. It really sounds like the computer is not seeing the CD/DVD dive. Does the drive even show up in the bios?

Hoooooray. Got it working.

Fix:

1. Get an old dvd/cd drive. (Not sure if this is vital)
2. Go into BIOS and stop all hard drives from booting.
3. Launch Windows setup disc and wala.
