Coming this August (August 9th) a Free-to-Play version of LEGO Universe will be available for download from LEGOuniverse.com! This new, Free-to-Play version of the game will make the game more accessible to new players. Free players will be able to create a character, explore two zones, and build on their own property –giving them a taste of the LEGO Universe experience.

New players will start in the Venture Explorer and travel to Avant Gardens, learning essential skills which will help them throughout the game. New players will also have access to their own private property to build on, and will be able to explore all of the other Avant Garden player properties. There is no time limit on the free trial; free players will be able experience LEGO Universe at their own pace.

I know I probably sound weird saying this, but I've actually wanted to try this. I'm going to start downloading now

Thanks for the link and news, I would have never found out otherwise until MMO Hut felt like making a video about it and posting it on youtube. +Rep

Here's an example of what you can build on properties, some people make some pretty amazing stuff, way more patience than I would have though.

If I want to build I have Minecraft for that xD

I read in game informer (I have a subscription because of those gamestop cards), that this game was different because you were able to fight monsters and such as a traditional MMO. I got past the intro and my game froze up for some reason, so I checked back on this thread. So far, it's decent, I got into combat and when I clicked on this console thing my game just froze up for some reason, I'll see if I can fix that issue.
