I got an HP TouchPad for $399.99.

- Quick access to the internet
- 50 GB of free cloud storage for life
- Using a few, good quality free apps.
- Listening to some music on YouTube, knowing full well that at some point I'll need to get some music encoded in FLAC.

I'll quote another thread for my pros and cons.

Typing on the virtual keyboard seems responsive.
Multitasking is easy with the ability to group cards together to make it easy to find a program you were using. Plus, 1 GB of RAM should allow you to have a lot of cards active at the same time.
Probably irrelevant, but Flash seems implemented well. Videos run fast and YouTube looks like it's from the PC.
The TouchPad's speakers are a lot better than the base comparison I have - my brother's 2nd generation iPod touch. The iPod touch, IMO, seems too bright for my ears, while the TouchPad is closer to neutrality.

The cons...
The audio turns off occasionally, forcing a restart to get sound again.
Somewhat slower loading times than my brother's iPod touch.
Relatively few apps in the app store compared to iOS and Android.

How do you like your Touchpad? I came so close when they were $300 at staples. If it wasn't so far away, I might not have been so successful in resisting. With it at $400 for life, and a 7" (maybe $300?) on the way, I may go that route. Always wanted to try WebOS.

If it wasn't a gift, i probably wouldn't still own it. Web browsing on a tablet still isn't quite there. I find android much more useful.

I only use mine to check my email and read comics. Its pretty much worthless like I knew it would be, I still love it though.

First bought an iPad 2, then bought a Nook Color (running CM7 on SD). Both were bought for the purpose of reading comics/manga. I "downsized" to a Nook Color since the iPad gets really tiring on the arms after a while. Still use both, albeit the iPad is now a more general purpose device (web browsing, occasional streaming video, RDP/VNC client, etc) while the NC is a dedicated comics/manga reader. I'm not sure if it's because I'm running Android from an SD card (Sandisk microSDHC 16GB Class 4) or if the NC's hardware just isn't fast enough or the screen isn't sensitive enough but I'm finding it a pain to use for web browsing, etc. I have an LG Thrive (AT&T version of the Optimus One) and it's much more responsive compared to the Nook Color.

First of all, don't run off the sd card. It will make everything laggy. Install on internal then get rid of any live wallpaper then overclock. Zippy little guy mine is.
