Yay ^_^ I'm really looking forward to owning a Mangofied phone. Although, I love my Nexus S, I just find Windows Phone 7 UI a nice change. I have tried Launcher 7, but compared to the real thing, lulz, nice try.

From the time of that settlement, Microsoft has only sold a bit more than 2 million licenses, amounting to $30 million in revenue, while HTC has shipped out more than 30 million Android devices, making $150+ million for Microsoft, 5 times that of its sale from its own OS, and they're only seeking more royalty from other Android device manufacturers. It's more ironic that HTC actually produces WP7 phones and has long partnered with Microsoft.
You're making completely irrelevant points based on your personal grudge against Microsoft. o_O

Let's break things down, shall we? X3

I find it pretty amusing that you believe everything in life should be free (no really, read on!). Actually, I laughed when I read the $15 licensing fee as being an issue for you. It was hilarious. We all thank you. ^________________^

Hey, which hardware company complained about that again? Hm, oh right, none did.

"But Android is free, derpity derp!"...

Oh, I forgot, Android. Yeah, because Google doesn't care to profit off Android, no other company should want to profit off their work. I mean, how crazy of them. To think, profit? Speaking of profits, hey Ikrin, do you have a job buddy? I hope you're not accepting a paycheck, you wouldn't want to be a hypocrite. That'd be pretty embarrassing. :C

Wait a minute, HTC coerced you say? You're definitely on to something, Ikrin. I mean, that must be what happened! HTC, we all know they're incompetent. Been around since 1997, over 5,000 employees, worth billions of dollars... yeah, completely incompetent. It's likely Microsoft did persuade them to pay money for something they really didn't owe.

Wait, I have an excellent idea! Ikrin, how about you send over an email to HTC? Think about it! With you're in depth knowledge, you could help them avoid getting coerced in the future! ^_^

I'm sure they'll be thankful. Heck, with their mediocrity in the business world, I'm sure your expertise will be refreshing to them.

Back to the topic on the release of Mango, kthx.

Lmao, Miki. That's a bit harsh.

No less fluid than the Omnia 7 I tried at JB HiFi while looking for a new phone or the iPhone 4 at JB too.
Is the Galaxy a vanilla OS install? I'd like to see vanilla android install in person. It's probably all that HTC sense and Motorola Blur crap that's slowing all these phones down. So pointless.

Your also forgetting your phone has 1gb of ram and a dual core processor. My Trophy has half those specs and still just as smooth.

Ok..? I don't get what this was meant to point out.

It's not a personal grudge against Microsoft. I am not necessary against Microsoft. I am against some of their business tactics.

I don't believe everything in life is free. The fee isn't an issue for me. It's an issue for those paying to develop hardware for the OS.

What's your proof of that? Perhaps there's a reason HTC won't disclose the exact details of the agreement? Herp derpity yourself.

I didn't say other companies don't care to profit off of Android. This is obviously the case. I'm saying that they shouldn't be profiting in such a way, given that the patents themselves probably shouldn't have been awarded, even if they are legitimate, and that they are not contributing to the platform. I don't see how accepting a paycheck would be hypocritical. That seems non-sequitur to me.

Wow, really now. That has to be the worst point made yet. I made no claim that HTC is incompetent. Obviously, they've been partnering with Microsoft for years. However, the reality is that they don't have a patent portfolio large enough to compete with Microsoft, and they're obviously being targeted by Apple right now.

Wait, I have a better idea. Perhaps you should stop making false claims and act more professionally as a moderator. I do not proclaim myself as an expert. I was merely relaying information. I asserted no nonsense about being some pompous business analyst or the ilk. Please refrain from spamming a thread you should be managing.

Ikrin is trollin'.

But on Mango Beta 7712 right now, they have released 7720 out into the wild on XDA. Though I'm going to wait until Samsung releases an actual optimized version of it.

So apparently I'm the troll and Miki isn't? I find that to be a double-standard.

Clearly you're Anti-Microsoft, and some sort of Android fanboy.
Trying to read the comments in the first 3 pages, and all you're doing is throwing moot points about Microsoft and WP7.

If you don't live MS and/or WP7.
Express you're hate somewhere else.
