i7-930 (Stock) + Megahalems & AP-15's P/P

Just wanted to get some feedback on the temps I'm getting with stock voltages (I know they won't reflect what I'll get when I OC, just curious on if they're good/on-par/sub-par). Oh, and the TIM (or ETI) is Indigo Xtreme and ambient was around 24.3C. And also, this is with the fans at full bore, I run them for noise purposes at 1100RPMs and they're maybe 1-2C off on idle and load.

SS showing HW for fan speeds and voltages, Realtemp to show min/max temps.

Edit: Just realized that I should have placed this in the Air Cooling section, any chance a Mod could move it for me?

For stock and 24°C ambient the temps look a bit high to me.

Yea, those temps are a bit higher than they should be. Best step would be to reapply the thermal compound and re-seat the heatsink.

This is actually my second re-seating with identical temps. I'm purchasing stuff off newegg tonight, would someone suggest a good TIM that pairs well with the material of the megahalems?

A new thermal compound won't drop your temperatures by more than 2-5C assuming your previous thermal compound was useless. MX4 thermal compound seems to be very popular around here though. What do you mean by "with the material of the megahalems?" Perhaps I miunderstood, but are you using thermal compound on the cpu + different compound on the heatsink?

I'm using Indigo Xtreme because I figured is try 'the best'. And I meant i assumed you pair aluminum with aluminum and such, nvm what i said though. Could it be that the megahalems just doesnt like indigo?

Ah, yea, I misunderstood

Hmmm, It's possible but there do seem to be a few people using the Megahalems + Indigo according to Google. I searched for a few Magahalems benchmarks and several reviewers used MX2 and had great temperatures. I can only assume that MX4 works even better.

What kind of motherboard temperatures are you getting? hwmonitor is nice if you don't already have a program that reports motherboard temps.

The first post shows my temps in hwmonitor. Sorry to be brief and less informative but I'm typing on my phone. Would you possibly link some of those indigo Vs. Mx-2 megahalems comparisons?

Oops, completely missed that. They weren't indigo vs MX-2 comparisons, they reviews of the megahalems that happened to used MX-2.

Your motherboard temperature is a bit higher than it should be... What kind of airflow setup do you have in your case? If the inside of your case is very warm then there's only so much an aircooler can do.

it there anyway you can sacrifice a bit of silent operation and raise the fans' rpms?
