im buying whats on amazon.. seems like the ASUS G53SW-XA2 is the best for under $1000
willing to go with a 13in with slightly lower spec since i have my desktop

I would stay away from i5 laptops, they're dual core and they are known to throttle down badly when they heat up.. unless you have some way of cooling them of course.

ps: with 1grand you can build a very legit gaming desktop.. so why laptop!?

too late its already comming today. i can always send it back if i dont like it...only paid 750 for it
i already have a decent desktop... i can always upgrade the graphics card on it whenever i want

um?

i5 has a 10w lower TDP than i7's

What do you suggest if not i5? Celeron? Because that is really the only thing with a lower TDP.

I think you will be really happy. I have the G50vt-x5 and the G72gx and both are amazing laptops that can run BFBC2 on full settings.

For the price point on the Asus laptops you cant beat it. As I am now selling the G50vt i cant be leave for the price how great it is compared to other laptops on the market for that price.

Im sure you will be more then happy. Also Asus costumer service is great. Every time ive called them ive been more then satisfied

ive read a lot of horror stories, been using it for a few days now... pretty neat
i might get square trade warranty to be safe
