No Difference Between 1.5v and 1.65v ?!

Ok, I have 2x4Gb Corsair Vengeance 1866C9 sticks with XMP timings of 9-10-9-27 2T @1.5v. I tried to increase their Speed without relaxing the timings or bumping the voltage, So I could reach 988MHz without any tweaking. The problem is, even after bumping the DDR Voltage to 1.65v I couldn't go higher than 988MHz. IMO this doesn't make any sense !!

The funny thing is that I could reach 999Mhz @1.65 from My Mobo's Tweaker in Windows , and it was absolutely stable while running the HyperPi and MaxxMem. Then I did some crazy CPU OC and Windows crashed
After that I Couldn't go higher than 988Mhz in Windows too.

So Any Idea ?! Is this Normal?!

Have you tried getting it with higher timings first?

Not high enough lol

Man, I am bummed, I have the same issue, I can get stock stable, but as soon as I push 66mhz no boot.

Those timings are horribad. lol

Also, what method are you using to OC to run a ram speed of 999 with SB?

Method? Well, I'm just changing the BCLK Freq and the multiplier is 38.
Should I do anything else?!

Any particular reason you're not just upping the multiplier?

Voltage increase doesn't mean you will be able to overclock it further. Every ram overclocks different even if its the same as you have someone elses can overclock more even at 1.5V. If you cant achieve more speed maybe you get lower your timings which is great as well. Anyways you got 1866MHz and in real world tests you will like 0.5-1fps difference between 1866MHz and 2000Mhz. Remember, lower voltage is always better.

Then, How did they do those OC's?! I mean , they had some decent OC's with increased voltage.

No Reason. I can go higher if it's gonna help.

Even you got same kit as in links above it doesn't mean your memory can overclock same as theirs. Every chip is different. Some can OC higher, some can't. Same story for CPU's. Some can get 4.5GHz at 1.25V some can't.
