Hey fellow Overclockers !
I'm looking to build a Intel rig and I've got the specs down and I'm now submitting them for some community inspection. Thanks !
Okay so here it goes :

RAM: Corsair PC3-15000 Vengeance.....8GB
Hard Drives: Hitachi 3TB 7.2k
OCZ Vertex 3 120G SSD (R550/W550mpbs)
OCZ Vertex 3 120G SSD (R550/W550mpbs)
Video Cards: Asus ENGTX580 DirectCU II 1536MB PCIE.
Asus ENGTX580 DirectCU II 1536MB PCIE.
DVD Drive: LG GH24NS 24xSATA DVD
Sound Card: Auzen X-Fi Bravura 7.1 PCIE Sound Card
OS: Wins 7 Professional
MOBO:Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 LucidLogix Virtu
Processor: Intel 2600K
PSU: Corsair AX-850W Modular Gold
Chassis: Cooler-master HAF X
Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
My budget about 4500-5000 SGD
I'm planning on Clocking this to 4GHz+ with ambient temps of about 27-32 degrees Celsius without a/c and 22 degrees Celsius with a/c
I'm thinking of overclocking the two graphics cards too !
Also, I'm only able to purchase/ put together this build about late nov/ dec so should i wait for IB instead of SB ?
I also have future plans to water cool
feedback appreciated and i'll also attach the price list from where i'm getting these parts thanks and cheers !
Price list : http://www.videopro.com.sg/getdata.php?id=282
THANKS one again

Welcome to OCN

Vengeance ram won't fit under a Noctua NH-D14 - check the Noctua site for certified ram.

I've got a OCZ Vertex 3, and while I haven't had major issues it cause a bsod every now and then (Haven't flashed the new firmware yet). I haven't really kept an eye on SSDs the last while, but I'd recommend looking if there are any alternatives to the OCZ price/performance wise.

Also I assume you are going to raid0 the ssds ?

Hard Drives: Hitachi 3TB 7.2k swap to 3x F3 Spinpoint 1TB

OCZ Vertex 3 120G SSD (R550/W550mpbs)
OCZ Vertex 3 120G SSD (R550/W550mpbs)
Why 2 SSD's? Not needed.

As for RAM get Mushkin Blackline 8gigs, 1.35V it fits so easily under Noctua.

Everything else seems good.

Yeah safeKlok i'm gonna raid 0 those two suckers together.
Hmm... ok then... and shame486 why the swap to 3 F3 spin points ?
Won't that up power consumption by quite a fair bit ?
Whats the timings and etcs for the mushkins ? i haven't really heard of them :-/
Thanks !

Nice. Like I said tho, readup on an alternative to the Vertex3's.

Mushkin are good, you can also look at G.Skill. Didn't know the brands when I was doing my build either, but they're good.

Spinpoint F3s are some of the fastest standard HDDs you can get, 3x1TB will also offer some redundancy if a drive were to fail compared to the single 3TB drive - power consumption from hard disks really isn't big enough to worry about.

Mushkin produces some very good RAM, the set he recommended runs at the following at stock:

1600MHz, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.35v VDIMM, Lifetime Warranty

Since it runs stock at 1.35 you'll be able to push a bit more out of it before you hit the sandy bridge 1.5V recommendation. Plus it fits under the cooler - fitting in the case is always good too

I'm wondering if there are any 1866 Mhz rams that fit under the NH-D14 ?

NH-D14 Ram Compatability List

Keep in mind that the performance increase with 1866 over 1600 is tiny, especially for gaming.

Get Auzentech X-Fi Forte it is better than X-Fi Bravura for just a bit more expensive.
