[Vortez] Antec KÜHLER H2O 920 CPU cooler Review

Since the introduction of the CoolIT Eco and Corsair H50, this market has seen much drama and the emergence of a wide new range of ALC units. CoolIT went back to being an OEM and Corsair began to source their new designs from their former competitor CoolIT over Asetek, another established ALC manufacturer. The void left by Corsair was quickly filled by Antec who saw this as a perfect opportunity to enter a new market and as such the KÃœHLER H2O series was born. There are currently two units forming part of the KÃœHLER H2O, the basic single radiator 620 with a single fan and a thicker variant with dual fans dubbed the 920 which we will be reviewing first today.

A very in-depth review but the cooler itself looks a bit disappointing to me. 53dBA is insane!

when these fake water cooling systems start coming out with 1/2ID tubing, they will be worth something.

you do realize that for bigger diameter you will need stronger pump to push the volume through?
besides i don't see how tubing diameter changes anything?
care to elaborate?

That's not going to happen for a while, it will increase costs.

Actually the fans are awesome, because they can go from dead silent @500RPM to jet-engine noise levels at over 2000RPM.
So they can please everyone. You can have quiet operation if you want, but you can also crank them up to maximize performance.

I have the Kuhler 920 and I am satisfied with it. No, it doesn't come close to a custom WC setup, but it's great for those who want decent cooling without breaking the bank.

1/2" ID tubing is no real gain over 3/8" ID. Anything smaller than that starts giving increased flow resistance however. But for short runs, it's less important.

Isn't cooling poor at 500RPM though?

with two fans it won't so much of a problem, it will definitely be better than air cooling
