small leak

Thread Starter
I have a small leak coming from the bottom of my barb on my GPU block. It's not bad but it does leak but very slowly. Any advice on how to stop it? I tried using zip ties to close it but it doesn't work. Right now, I'm using paper towels wrapped around it to absorb the water

Strip it down and check the barb o ring, replace if in doubt. It's also possible you've not tightened the barb enough or overtightened which can twist the o ring and also cause a leak.

Could also use teflon tape if you have some. Long term I would replace it though.
PTFE Tape only works on tapered fittings. It's not needed on straight ones and no guarantee that it would seal effectively either. The o ring provides the seal and shouldn't need anything else.

Also you might find bits of the tape in your blocks as tiny bits can peel off and enter the loop.

Drain it and reinstall.

Wonderful thing about water: it can turn a small leak into a serious one unexpectedly.
