Thread Starter
okay i have windows 7 running bootcamp on a 2GHz metal macbook

i already OC the CPU to 2.3 (highest it will go bfore crash) and GPU to 537MHz and shader to 1315

i have 8GB (2x4gB) Corsair PC-8500 that's supposed to run at 1066

how do i overclock it to 1333MHz?

i have Afterburner and nVidia system tools 6.03

i also have CPU-Z and GPU-Z

Thanks in advance

First, I don't think overclocking a laptop is a great idea. They are usually built with subpar cooling or cooling for stock clock rates. Second, with a macbook I am not sure what Bios options you will have but Here is where I would start. It's an article from the memory sticky.

oh, i don't have any BIOS D:

any solution with nvidia system tools?

and ya i know OC'ing isn't very good, but i really need a performance boost before getting my new desktop (which will be a OSX 86)

To be honest there's very little you can do. Apple likes to lock down its hardware to such an extent that modding and overclocking is essentially impossible. As you've already seen, overclocking a laptop is neigh impossible, especially a Mac Book, due to lack of cooling (it might be possible on bigger, bulkier PCs due to larger/more fans). A 0.3ghz overclock is hardly even noticeable for most tasks, and will just result in shorter battery life.

I could have a rant about why not to get an Apple desktop, but its not my money.

I don't think you can/want -to overclock something in a laptop. First of all, I have a MacBook Pro and that thing runs insanely hot even on idle states.

Also, the BIOS used for Windows is not the same as other original Windows platform laptops.

I would suggest you to leave the hardware in its factory state.

there are software tools for OCing laptops, but I'm not really familiar with how they work and any advice I give might make things worse. So I suggest you research them, understand how they work and be cautious when you use them.

only way to overclock ram is to change the divider or overclock the FSB, which if your multiplyer is locked, you have already overclocked your FSB to the max if your at the highest speed you can get, so only thing to change now is the divider. But overclocking a laptop is a really bad idea as the cooling sucks.
