Bad something , no on knows what.

Btw, MSI does NOT have OCP protection on their MID - low end mobos .. so watchout
Asus anyday in that price range .
Starbomba , sorry , but I wouldn't back that mobo any given day .. MSI for gfx card undoubtedly , not for mobos right now .. It's like the whole bunch of 7200.11s by seagate , failing .
... But i recommended an ASUS with OCP

I know by experience MSI fails on motherboards. My HTPC's G41 can't OC for dear life unless you massively overvolt, and even then it is finicky on doing it (and le's not mention the vdroop...). Since it's not a vital PC (sig rig is configured for HTPC just in case, plus i don't use it that much lately) and lack of money has stopepd me from getting a real motherboard.

And it's not only a chipset issue, a friend has tried my E4500 on a G41 Gigabyte, and he could take it to 3.2 GHz @ 1.44v, while i struggle to get to 3.02 GHz @ 1.45v (he has a E6400 running @ 3 GHz while the most i could take it on the MSI due to FSB wall was to 2.78 GHz)

I wish they made mobos like they make video cards tho. The 450's i have have lasted me very well.

I loved my 6850 .. not even the cyclone cooler.. custom modded the cooler.. had to RMA , and loved the warranty process .. got a credit note in a week! Upgraded to a 6950 TF3 that unlocked.. cutsom PCB , more phases than normal, and amazing HS+F, vo;tage tweaking .

The VRAM hit 1600Mhz Oo. lol.
MSI all the way for gfx cards..

YOU're GOING TO BUY AN INTEL PROCESSOR FOR IGP ?? SERIOUSLY??

buy fusion if you're so into it .
you should be able to find an A4 chip somewhere for the same price.. :/
An intel IGP < HD3200(4200/4250 on newer mobos..) and that's half of what the HD6550D offers..
so go fusion and u'll save out on a gfx card. Just buy a 5670 DDR3 on the cheap
Just got a sapphire 5670 ddr3 a couple of days back for a friend's build. 60C on FULL OCCT LOAD.. ON Overclocking.
For how much ?
3.5K , thats 65$ .. should be about 50$ in the states ..
Thats coming from a place where my 6950 TF3 cost me 350$ last month while it's 230$ in the states :/ not even open box!

My Phenom 555 at 4GHz runs at about 55C..TCASE. On-die is almost certainly more than 20C hotter.

AMD and Intel platforms do not assume the same measuring points for temperatures. The thermal resistance of the IHS makes temps on the die side 15-30C (TJ) warmer than what's on the heatsink side (TCASE), at full load.
I'm pretty sure Core Temp is telling me TJ, not TCASE. At 4.3 GHz w/ 1.59v, full load temp on my chip is 76C according to Core Temp, and TJ Max is 90C. Not only that... Core Temp's name should pretty much explain it.

And I'm using a 212+.

Thats a stupid OC to have
64C is the max by AMD.
%%C is the max cause errors creep in while overclocking
1.5Vo n air is REALLY PUSHING IT .
1.5something is suicidal!
Run SnM on it and it'll prolly hit 80 so0mething.
Don't rely too much on inbuilt sensors.. but one could just look at your cooling ( I had the 212+ till a month back) and volts , with the same processor that I have , and know it runs stupid hot . Het is less of an issue with Intel CPUs.. with AMD.. the cooler, the better.

Btw, Coretemp is just a hardware monitoring tool , like hwmon :/ so don't think for a second that it displays the Core's temperature.. It just reports what the mobo /CPU feeds it .

The sensor on you MOBO should read out the approx temp ,, not the true core temp. That comes directly from the CPU's sensors.. like even a GPU may have multiple sensors strategically placed within its core that may heat up differently.. on load.

It was just a quick suicide run. My 24/7 OC stays around 55C after several hours of Prime95 (I hit a stability wall past 4.2GHz, need to significantly raise vcore).

If it was a TCASE reading, though, wouldn't the chip have exceeded TJ Max, in which case thermal throttling would occur?

Haven't seen throttling on the CPU so far , unless :
CnQ was ON ..
OCP on the VRMs ??
THat too can be modified by changing the P states using PhenomMsrTweaker or so , I think.
don't mind my rantings , can get pretty stupid -.- at times.
