Yes, WET(GMT,BST) I can approve of, +1 is easy enough to calculate.

(But I still don't like 24h systems.)

  • It uses the normal decimal system, instead of the ancient 24 hour, 60 minute, 60 second system which makes time telling more complicated.
  • .beat time calculations are easy, @345 + @456 .beats = @801, compared to e.g. 3:45:20 + 2 hours, 25 minutes, 45 seconds, where the seconds, minutes and hours must all be added.
  • It's really cool.
Advantages of UTC
  • It uses the ancient 24 hour, 60minutes, 60 seconds system which makes telling the time straightforward because we've being doing it that way for thousands of years.
  • Time calculations with hours, minutes and seconds were taught to us as infants.
  • It's abbreviated wrong, but that just gives us something else to complain about the French for.

Disadvantages of the Internet Time system
  • It uses the normal decimal system, instead of the ancient 24 hour, 60 minute, 60 second system which everyone knows how to use already.
  • .beat time calculations are easy, @345 + @456 .beats = @801, but no-one knows what any of that means anyway.
  • It's really cool if you're a crazy internet geek who has never had a conversation with a girl.

Yes we should use "beat time". After all Lunch time is a VERY memorable number, 791...which varies depending on which time zone you are in. Gawd what a stupid system. It "simplifies" one thing and complicates every single normative daily usage scenario....most people on the face of the Earth don't care about what time it is 1/2-way around the world at the same instant. They only care about when the work day stats/ends and when lunch break is.

For both Syrillian and late Canadian NDP leader Jack Layton (who passed away yesterday also because of cancer), I'm now folding full speed ahead.

Started up Folding for Syrillian.

Will try to keep it going. Hopefully my room doesn't turn into a sauna, heh, but I'll keep at it as much as I can.
