Task Manager Priority

Thread Starter
So I read in another thread Zodac mentioning that it's good to go into task manager and set the folding process to a high priority. I've been doing that, but every time I go in there it's set back to Low priority automatically. Why is this happening? Is there any way to keep it at a high priority?

Honestly i dont know why you would have to do that... All 5 of my SMP clients work just fine when set to low priority...

There's a slight increase in PPD, which you notice more when you don't have masses of servers.

The reason is keeps dropping is because the priority of the FahCore file resets after each WU. You need to use a program like SetPriority or WinAFC to set it full time.

Does this slight increase in PPD have an adverse effect on system responsiveness or will FAH still give priority to other apps when they request it like normal?

Edit: I think the idea is to set the fah.exe to high priority which is normally normal priority and the fahcore.exe stays at low priority?

There will be more of an adverse effect on system responsiveness as your CPU usage gets closer to 100%.

FAH doesn't control priority... the OS does. The OS will give priority of FAH over most other threads. However, as long as your have CPU cycles free... it should be not noticable.
Once again...

No... set FahCore_xx.exe to High (not Realtime though; computer lags then).
