Gtx 460 with i5 2400 or w8 for buldozer??

Thread Starter
i have a gtx 460 1gb

i am looking into buying a
i5 2400
with 8gb ram

or should i w8 for buldozer?

i always used nividia and intel

but lets say i buy a 6 or 8 core cpu from BD

will there be eny bottle necking?

i mean the cpu to fast fro my gpu?

and if its the case will i get less preformance?

i read the the 3.6gh 8core bd is between the 2600k and the 990x i7

that the 8core but thats out of my price range (cant aford it)

the 4/6core maby be the same as the 2400/2500 (from my point of view)

so my question is again...

i5 2400 or wait for buldozer?
i am w8ing along time olredy for a cpu,and bd is some time more to w8 and i h8 waiting

sorry for my spelling and grammar , but i hope u can understand it

thankyou

if your buying a I5 "2400" just do it now.. as I'm guessing the 2500 is too much money?

Are you using it for gaming or other tasks as well? Modern games use four cores at MOST.

Also, i would recommend getting the 2500k instead of the 2400 if you go for sandy bridge, as the 2500k has an unlocked multiplier, and can be overclock, as opposed to the 2400, which is locked.

If overclocking isnt a concern, i'd say go with the 2400 now and be happy.

Bulldozer should come out with competitevley priced quad cores with unlocked multipliers, however, so honestly, I would wait for that, as i wouldnt want to buy a non-overclockable CPU.

You don't need an unlocked multiplier to overclock.

But you need one to overclock MORE. The difference in price between a non-K and K processor is trivial compared to the difference in performance you can get. (a non-K CPU can OC 300-500 mhz MAX... a K CPU can OC from 1 - 2 GHz <- pushing it, but at least 1 GHz)

In response to the OP's question, if you aren't going to get a 2500k, then go back to x58 and get those CPUs which can OC or go P55... why get components you can't even OC? That's what you're supposed to do if you can't afford the best.

You can adjust the BLCK an tiny amount, i think from 100 or so to like 107. Not a noticeable gain.
