A couple of Water Cooling questions [5 Questions now]

Thread Starter
Hi I have a couple of questions about water cooling. During the last half year I have done much research on it and I'm soon prepared to build my first water cooled computer.

1: What's the best tubing size? I think the bigger ones look coolest.

2: Do all water-colors in the end block the loop?

3: How often should the water be changed?

4: Is it possible to have a cylinder reservoir and have a "waterfall" from the top? Or will it be messed up when it's turned off?

5: Anyone know if the Silverstone Air penetrator 1500rpm fans are good for water cooling, got 3 of them atm.

More questions will be added later, you see the number of question atm in the title.

1/2 ID 3/4 OD is the standard large tube, I use 7/16 ID on 1/2 barb for a better seal.

Some do, Mayhem dye will not

3: How often should the water be changed?
6 months, and if you have the time clean and flush

Which res are you thinking. A waterfall could cause problems with introducting air.

6 months, and if you have the time clean and flush

I'm going to use compression fittings, from Bitspower (Guess those are the best) So I guess I will just stick with 1/2 ID 3/4 OD as both tubing and fittings, and maybe 7/16 tubing if I find it in right color.

Hmm, 6 months sounds so sickly much, So I guess I should have an own port to empty the loop with at the bottom? And most reservoirs has the possibility to remove a plug to fill on the top?

How do you clean/flush it btw?
