Thread Starter
I am looking to build a 2600k and would like to OC it to 4.0 at least. ? I have is...the RAM spacing for the CPU cooler. I've build air cooler and feel comfortable with air cooling but the issue is the RAM heatsink may cause a cleareance issue. The air cooler I am using is a A70 and the RAM I want to use are these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820104266

They will work fine, if the slots went in order A1,A2 - B1,B2 you would just use A2, B2, the motherboard is designed to use these ones first for better cooler clearance so no worries

Is SSD worth it with Z68 along with a HDD? Also SATA II or SATA III SSD?

Unless you're going to be using Z68's SSD Caching (it takes a small <60GB SSD and turns it into cache for your most used programs, meaning they launch quicker) or the integrated GPU, P67 should be fine.

if you wont be doing video encoding then a 2500k will be just as good and cheaper
SSD will make your PC faster even without SSD cache so imo P8P67 Pro is best bang for buck.

If you don't already have it, I would change the RAM, 1.65v is fine for SB but would be better if it's 1.5v or lower. I recommend reading this and choosing one from the lists that suit you better.

Overclocking & Choosing RAM for Sandybridge H67/P67/Z68.

Hope that helps

Will you be using the features of the Z68 chipset (Lucid Virtu & SSD caching)? if not get the P67 mobo. Any mid-range P67 mobo will do the trick ie. Asus P8P67 Pro, Asrock P67 extreme4, Gigabyte P67 UD4 or the Biostar TP67XE.

THe cheapest bacng for buck P67 mboo is the Biostar followed by the Asrock, both are quality mobo's and I've heard nothing but good things about them.

The P8P67 Pro will be a very good board and cheaper then the Z68 boards.
