Flashed mine the day I installed it and have had zero problems.

Correct. This way lets you keep all the powersaving features of the driver intact. Search my posts with rbe and gpu registers for the the how-to.

If I was able to OC to the specs of the 6970, wouldn't it be pretty much the same as one then? Since it's unlocked.

Unlocked 6950s to 6970 bios = 6970... performance is identical. I've run my quad 6950s as 6970s since Dec 2010. Recently I switched to a shader unlock only 6950 bios with RBE voltage + racerx mod just because I could since I was modding the bios anyways. So if yer gonna be modding the bios, might as well just start with a default 6950 bios. It doesn't matter either way though.

But... I've used Sapphire Trixx as well, I pumped it up to 1.200 and it still crashes BFBC2, unless there's something in Trixx that kills BFBC2 as well.

Seems like Tweek and Chow haven't had problems with theirs flashed. Anyone actually have proof of their vidcard being damaged? If you do get artifacts and shiz, can you fix that?

Thanks!
That is your problem right there, BFBC2 crashes with any OC tool apart form CCC, i believe i read somehting about how PunkBuster with BC2 and a 6XXX series card cause Afterburner, Trixx and other tools to crash teh computer, i had the issue too, and here is a link to a thread that has confirmations of the issue: http://www.overclock.net/ati-drivers...bc2-crash.html

Blah! I fixed the problem with Afterburner, I didn't know that it messes with Trixx as well.

I found your post and all the info about the CCC mod thingy. I copied the 6950 info, made it into reg file. Then just double clicked it and added it to the Registry. In the /0000 folder I can see it in there, so it's good.

But... CCC still has the same limits, even after restart.
