Which Variant/model of GTX580 to go for

Thread Starter
After using Sparkle Calibre-460 coupled with Arctic accelero cooler, going for stock cooler is'nt justified at all

So need your advices regarding the following options,

GIGABYTE GTX-580 Ultradurable version

MSI GTX580 Lightning Extreme Edition

GALAXY GTX580 With Arctic Cooling

Gainward GTX 580

Cost wise, I am leaning towards galaxy......

Just from pure looks, lightning.
Performance, lightning all around. And it cleans itself!

The Galaxy 580 runs at 50-55c on full load while overclocked but the vrm heatsinks suck on it. But even with the fan on full it is still silent.

Lightning for sure (but I'm biased)....

Go for the Lightning.

First of all it's 3gb. People will tell you your not going to need all that memory. Maybe so. Although, you're definitely going to use more than 1.5gb in some games. Even at 1920x1080. Recently I was trying to decide on either the Evga 1.5gb or the Evga 3gb. Definitely glad I went with the 3gb, even though it cost a good chunk more.

Secondly the lightning is just a badass card. Well made and overclocks like crazy. Also, the Frozr coolers are known for doing a great job.

If price is your concern, look at it this way. You're already spending 450$ at least on a 1.5gb variant such as the Galaxy, what's another 100-150 for the best option?

I have the Galaxy GTX 580 with the Arctic Accelero Xtreme Plus Cooler on it. Paid $435 after $40 MIR and $25 Promo code. This card is awesome, quite, super fast, good OCer, and is cheaper than all the others. I highly recommend the GTX 580 from Galaxy. I think this Galaxy is the best of all the others.
