I can't believe you guys recommend quad-SLI or 3-way SLI and a SR-2 with dual 6 cores... TO PLAY COUNTER STRIKE! Did you hit your head hard lately cause he could max it with a 500$ laptop -.- This is plain stupid...

So you wouldn't build such a system if you had no budget? That's crazy dude. If I had the cash I'd totally build a dual Xeon SR-2 tri-SLI rig.

I kinda wanted to lean towards intel and EVGA stuff, i only asked if i can get the AMD radeon HD because i think this will support an eyefinity set up

His friends would probably be impressed by a window and a couple LEDs, no need to spend 10k on this build. Even with 3000$ he could build a dual GPU system with watercooling and impress his friends. But OP, I'll let you waste money (no matter how much you have) and I'll also let you screw up with 1600$ xeons, 600$ GPUs and more since it's your 1st build. 1600$ CPUs with 90$ air coolers on a SR-2 would also be funny. BTW, spending 10k just to impress your friends is stupid but send me 20k, I'll build you a rig for 10k and keep the difference and be extremly happy You could also build a 3k build and give 17k to charity (I would suggest 50/50 between me and charity). Anyway, have fun burning money (that's another idea concerning whatever will be left over.

BTW, since you wan't a supercomputer, might as well go all-in:

Yes, you can use Intel processors with AMD video cards. AMD supports Eyefinity and Nvidia supports Surround.

Anyways, after reading everyones advices...I've come up with the computer I want to build. I will be setting this up with eyefinity. Here it goes, I hope this will work since I have to get the parts soon. It sucks not having a computer.

1.) CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K (8M Cache, 3.40 GHz)
2.) GPU: Dual AMD Radeon HD 6990
3.) Motherboard: ASUSTeK Maximus IV Extreme - Z
4.) Memory: G. Skill Ripjaws 16GB (4x4GB) 240 - pin DDR3 SDRAM 1333
5.) Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 RX 1000W
6.) Hard Drive: Intel X25-M SSD 120GB SATAII
7.) Blu Ray Burner: iHBS212 Lite On Internal 12X Blu-Ray Disc Writer with Lightscribe
8.) Case: Lanboy air red and black
9.) Display: Samsung MD230X3 Black 23" 1920 x 1080 (each)

How does that sound?
I'd get faster ram, either a Intel 510 or Crucial M4 SSD, and a different case, the Lanboy Air is a POS.

Also, you not getting a sound card?

@CompNoobSaibot: Just one simple question... are you okay with burning 10k of ca$h?!
It would be a computer you'll NEVER even use for like 20% XD which in my opinion is completely obsolete and silly. SAVE the money for upgrades like the new kepler gpu's from Nvidia and some new RAM or proc THAT makes a difference... For example... when the I7 980 came out it was extreme (and still is ^^) butit costed a thousend buks :O just look at the 2600k now, which performes about the same or less here and there :O In my country it is about 600-700 bucks difference X'D so don't be silly and save some
