6990 water cooling question

Thread Starter
I installed my Swiftech Epsilon water block on the 6990 along with the radiator, etc. It is keeping things MUCH cooler (dropped by over 20 C). The water pump is variable speed. The issue is, you would have to manually adjust the pump speed rather than having a dynamic speed like the features provided by CCC that can raise fan speed based on the GPU temp. I would like to use the fan control interface/pins on the 6990 to control my pump speed so it is not maxed out at 4600RPM all of the time.

Does anyone know if the 4-pin connector on the card which controls the stock fans has the same pin-out that the 4-pin connector on a motherboard has to control its cpu fans?

Thanks for the input... first post... be gentle.

Cheers!

ummm you could prob wire something up to do so. I am just not sure if the signal sent by your MB for fan control would be picked up the same on your GPU. Which pump are you using?

If its a swiftech or alike and you only have your GPU on the look I would strongly recommend leaving it on a max of around level 3 as that thing is way overkill for a single 6990 and 1 radiator. Adjusting pump speed on the fly is not going to yield the same kind ore results as adjusting fan speed when temps and load get a bit higher.

I think you should just set your pump speed manually once and leave it.
