Why a 1kW PSU? Unless you plan to Sli in the future, not gonna need something like that.

Doubt you'd have problems with AX850 either. Mine's haf x and it can power everything I need in it without getting in the way (except the 8-pin 12V ATX maybe, way too short),

I wanted the Asus P67 Deluxe because it has better reviews than the Asus Z68 Deluxe. I plan on getting a SSD for christmas. So I don't think the Z68 Deluxe is worth it, unless it has something else I don't know about.

Do I really need 1000w? Even with GTX 580 in sli, I thought 850w was enough. Correct me if I am wrong.

why 1000 watts? cause its only 20 more bucks ....and for gtx 580 sli... it gives the cards more breathing room for overclocking.

Read somewhere that with 580 sli, you might not have enough headroom for OCing. "Correct me if I am wrong" kookoo.gif

You don't want to pay extra for the Z68 chipset unless you're going to use SSD caching or the onboard video associated with the Z68. Otherwise, the P67 is identical at a better price and you should go with it as you did.

You don't need 1000W unless you will go tri-SLI at some point. Either of the Corsair units should suit your needs if/when you go SLI, with the gold unit being more efficient, of course. Phaedrus's guide on these forums suggests you need ~725W to support SLI'd 580's on an i5 with a <50% overclock. ~775W for a >50% overclock. I've also read where solid 850W units like the Corsair can perform above and beyond they're declared wattage, which is the "headroom" you may need.

If you are getting an SSD get the Z68.

As for other things, GTX 580 no doubt, don't bother with OC editions, you can alter that yourself for free. Noctua NH-D14 is awesome, but a bit pricier than the Megahalems. Also comes with thermal paste. Another excellent thermal paste is Shin Etsu X23. I would go with a higher end motherboard such as the Asus Maximus Extreme-Z/EVGA Z68 FTW, especially if you plan to overclock. I can't give an opinion on that case you have selected, but for $30 more you could get a nice flashy 800D biggrin.gif Finally, Microcenter offers the best deal on Intel processors, i5-2500k for $190 including tax. Check to see if there are any nearby where you can do an instore pickup or ship it if there isn't one close. It will be cheaper still than ordering it from anywhere else.

Also, if you haven't looked on Directron for prices, do so. They have some pretty good deals on there. I picked up an MSI GTX 560 Ti OC edition for $220, which was a good $10-30 cheaper than most other stores. Shipping is quite fast too.
