No need to jump all over his back for it. All you needed to do was ask the op if he was possibly mistaken on the name.

I have a genuine Apble jPad I'll sell you for a bargain price. Interested?

Didn't think so. Why would you expect this to be a genuine (and expensive) piece of audio kit just because the name sounds similar? That's exactly why cheapy crappy brands design their products and brand names to be as close to more popular or better products as they can legally get away with - to tempt idiots who think they're getting a bargain when they're actually buying cheap tat, usually for much more than it's worth.

Good point.

I'm shocked though if they would target a name like Ascend Acoustics as it's really a one man show and is TINY compared to so many other audio names. It's not a famous brand or anything... the Sierra 1 is famous with audiophiles though and AA are hardly expensive kit.

First off this quote above wasn't made to the OP is was made to that other guy gorb and I hardly jumped on anyone's back!

GET REAL

PS if gord had really heard of Ascend Acoustics doesn't it make sense he would mentioned them suggesting the OP wasn't spelling it correctly? Why would he search the net to find no hits and then suggest it's a "white van" outfit... doesn't make any logical sense.

Yeah I know you made the comment towards gorb. He was just giving his thought on the situation. I was just giving advice on a better way to handle it.

Anyways that's enough, I don't want to "thread crap" more than I already have.

Well I assumed he has the speaker brand wrong considering he even spelt the word "acoustic" incorrectly in the name! It's an understandable assumption.

So now you think I am lying about knowing about Ascend? lol. Feel free to search my posts where I've recommended them in the past.

Like you said, Ascend is a small operation. You are the one saying Accent is stealing the name - maybe they just never heard of them. From what I can find, Accent makes crappy HTIB type systems...and if they're a small enough company that only sells to retail stores in Australia, odds are good they have never heard of Ascend.

mount-eerie pm'd me and it turns out they are speakers from Ascend Acoustics. I guess Dave has a deal with a retailer in .au that sells them. That's GREAT mount-eerie I'd buy them for sure as they are truly fantastic speakers for the money. Really can't do better "for the money". the 170s and 340s aren't the nicest looking speaker that's for sure but they compare acoustically to speakers costing at three times the money.
