Yup, agree with everything you say.
But by innovation i mean stuff that's actually useful.
For example, Roccat introduced easyshift thing. Basically - u press a button, and other buttons do different things while that button is pressed. That is really useful, press the button, and now the scroll wheel controls system volume etc.
That is innovation. It helps the user get stuff done more quickly.
Also another example of innovation - roccat usb cable has a plug that actually says what product is on the other end. This is useful as well.
And i mean, SS aren't even innovating on the sensor field. That's just Avago doing all the heavylifting.
Waiting when the sensor race is over and the manufacturers switch into additional features.
