For most people its not and its not really 5% but up to 5% depending on how fast you move the mouse and the surface

In my opinion you can definately live with that. But I guess everybody can't (derp).

Dude. Those of us with small "hands" already get enough **** from women, do you really need to add more fuel to that fire?!

No. If you already have a Xai, I don't think the upgrade is worth the price.

OCN is the reference mouse forum (imo). We can make a campain that clearly explains all that BS. I'd be glad to help. Being the "reference" forum I think we could reach a lot of people.

Hey, we did that. I did that. Repeatedly. No one listened. In fact no one even really helped out as I was getting clobbered by hired help on Ars Technica and other forums.
For your amusement: Does DPI matter in gaming ...

By all means please start that campaign, I would be the first person to support it. But please don't assume that we haven't done our best to educate and inform the market. We were just the only ones who did it - and no one really paid attention to that.

Is that for the US too? Any chance you can be a little more specific on that release date?

EDIT: Also, please have your testers make sure this doesn't happen with the Kana. I'm moving the mouse up and down and this strange jump sometimes happens. My Mico does it and its rumored to use the same sensor.

When people say 5%, they are simply being colloquial. You simply can't represent the effects of acceleration with a simple percentage figure. What does it even mean? It moves 5% further on a "fast" swipe than on a "slow" swipe? What's fast? What's slow?

I seriously ask this in the most sincere and non-angry way possible but do you guys mind updating the firmware on the Xai so it doesn't completely screw up when you have two CPI settings on the same profile? The only reason I ask is that it works just fine in any firmware before 1.4.2, but in 1.4.2 for some reason if you have two of the same CPI settings on the same profile (example: 400 CPI/400 CPI) it completely breaks the mouse if you switch to that profile and forces it to the default 5040 CPI setting, WITH NO WAY to fix it other than re-plugging the mouse back in.

I actually RMA'd my two Xai's 3-4 months ago and I think John W. was telling me you guys were actually working on a new firmware to fix some of the issues in 1.4.2. I may have misread what he told me, but that's what he was alluding to.

Either way, thanks A LOT for posting responses in this thread, I hope the Kana turns out great.
