SteelSeries Sensei - Page 28

Bullveyr has always been one of the most knowledgeable guys I've seen around when it comes to mice, but at the same time he's never really come across as a scrutinizing tester, I'd trust him more to pick out the tester than to be the tester tongue.gif

Derp would be good, but I don't know if he would be as objective as Skylit, although that's not necessarily a bad thing

If I would need to recommended about guys that take the Kana and review it with all honesly it was: Bullveyr, Skylit, Derp, HaiiYaa.
Not matter which one you chose - all of them will bring us honestly and advance review as review should be.

Good luck for everyone, and for steelseries with making the Kana.

Bullveyr to me sounds like a good pick. Know him from ESR and he has always been very knowledgeable with mice.

Kinda my thoughts too on my three nominees. All make positive contributions to the community with the quality of their posts. Just read Bullveyr's post, sounds like he'd rather bow out. I think Derp would find any flaw on the mouse and honestly report it, with absolutely no sugar-coating; he's about the most critical (non-troll) guy on the OCN forums. I also think Skylit has maybe more objectivity and less tendency to become positively or negatively biased early on, when he's testing a new mouse, giving it more time and patience to adapt and get used to it, before passing judgment. Really, either Derp or Skylit would do a great job evaluating this mouse, and ideally you'd get them both to do it, just to get both of their angles and feedback, IMO.

For your amusement: Does DPI matter in gaming ...
Razers reply: Why DPI does matter ..
- Read the comments. To both articles. I didn't exactly get a lot of support.. In fact the perception was that I was selling snake oil and that because I work for a company I am inherently incapable of telling truth.

By all means please start that campaign, I would be the first person to support it. But please don't assume that we haven't done our best to educate and inform the market. We were just the only ones who did it - and no one really paid attention to that.

What if you put the pros to say that high dpi doesn't represent tracking quality (instead of put them to say that SenSei rocks)? I think that if you put Markeloff for instance to say that high dpi is nothing, a lot of people would listen.

Make a huge campain. You can count with our support! I think that SS can go head to head with Razer and eventually break the myth. The truth is out there, if we shout loud enough Razer won't be able to keep the myth alive. IF that's what you really want. rolleyes.gif

I dont know. It simply doesnt go well together to put a 11700 dpi turbo engine for marketing in and interpolated 1 dpi steps and then claim dpi doesnt matter and ask for support from the community.

For high-dpi mice, the tracking usually gets bad once you too high. For example, the 3500 deathadder has the best tracking at 1800 and has dimished perfect control at 450, 900, and 3500.

The Xai also experiences a similar phenomenon. I wouldn't be surprised if the Sensei had the same thing.

In the case of the 3.5 deathadder (and the sensei), both mice use the same sensor as their predecessors (the 3500 deathadder uses a REALLY similar one) with a buffed-up processor.

However I won't knock the Sensei for the diminished perfect control at high DPI. You realistically won't be moving your mouse super fast when it's that sensitive. Similarly, no one hates the deathadder 3.5 for the same diminished control at it's highest setting.

Tell me if I'm reading what you wrote wrong but to my understanding the DA 3.5G and the Sensei use COMPLETELY different sensors.

DA 3.5G = ADNS-S3888
Sensei = ADNS-A9500 (or the 9800 that I keep hearing about)

You misinterpreted it, I meant in comparison to their predecessors.
